The Alphabet – Single Vowels

Today’s Nuts+Bolts of Korean looks at the alphabet. Here we’ll introduce you briefly to the first of the Korean characters.

Hangul (or Hangeul) is the Korean alphabet. It is possible to write in Korean using Romanisation, which is where you use the Roman alphabet (like English uses) to write Korean words, but this can be difficult to communicate in and almost impossible to use translation software on.

We won’t worry about pronunciation too much (although the Romanisation is usually a pretty good guide for that). Let’s just introduce you to the letters.
